The Island was used in the 40's through the 70's by the United States Air Force and is now a State Park. This 35 mile long Island is very secluded and rustic. Camping is permitted, along with bed rentals within the bunkhouse. Matagorda Island is between Espiritu Santo Bay/San Antonio Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. |
